Location

Tillicoultry lies 9 miles to the east of Stirling at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire (known as the Wee County) in an area known as the Hillfoots. The name originates from the Gaelic Tullich-Cul-Tir which means the mount or hill at the back of the country.

The Tillicoultry Burn was the source of water power used by the many textile mills which formed the main source of employment in the village.

Today Tillicoultry is probably best known as the home of the Sterling Mills Furniture Warehouse and the Sterling Mills Designer Village where there are several designer outlet stores.

Facilities in the village include a school and a busy High Street with a range of individual shops. There are several nice hotels and pubs in the area.

There is a nice 9 hole parkland golf course, a dry ski slope, rugby park and bowling club.

Centrally located, the apartment is minutes from all local amenities and main bus routes connecting the Hillfoots villages to Stirling and Alloa.
